Rendering Farm Registry
I'd like to call this my 2nd version of this listing but it's more like the
10th! I've gone through so many formatting methods of displaying this
information but I'm still not happy with the result. At least this current
format makes me the least unhappy of the bunch. I'd prefer using a Java-based
database platform to display the listing but can't afford to buy any good
packaged software for it and all the free stuff hasn't been up to my needs as of
yet. Please feel free to drop me a line if you feel
you can help here!
As always, this may not be the complete list of rendering
farms in the world but I do my best to keep it updated. I'm sure there are
several I missed and several that are now offline so please help me out if I'm
missing the latest info!
For information on some of the abbreviations used in this list

* A note on these rendering farms :
Rendering farms are added in no special order at this time. Usually just as they
come in. As hardware specifications fluctuate heavily with time,
Unofficial3D.com relies on the companies' rendering farm pages, or feedback to
keep things up-to-date. Please note that some companies support tapes. However,
due to the vast difference in tape software, please check to make sure your
tape/software is compatible with theirs (some have already given specs).
* A note on Availability :
Availability only when Render Farm is not already in use by another client, or
used in-house.
A note on abbreviations :
Supply ; I: - 'Internet' media (e-mail, FTP, web-based, etc.) | D: Digital Media
( CD, DAT, MO, etc. )

Assumed is that all Return media must be mailed due to high file sizes usually
involved with Render Farm jobs.
* A note on Render Farm Specs :
The 'Total :' field is a very rough indication of what a Render Farm is
capable of, and can only be given for Render Farms that have provided full
specs. For example : A Dual 200MHz machine is counted as 400MHz. But no tests
indicate that rendering is indeed twice as fast on a Dual processor
configuration.
* A note on terms :
A 'unit' is a single computer unit, be it a single processor, dual, quadruple,
rack mounted box, etc. If a rate is termed to be per CPU, then You should
realize, that dual processor machines effectively have 2 CPUs. This is why,
where possible, rates are given in a per unit format.
